Double Dark Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Happy Thanksgiving EVE! So last night was my first attempt at making chocolate cookies, and they turned out really well! My fiance loves dark chocolate and he requested that I make some chocolate cookies..so I did!
Here are the ingredients you will need:
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) cold, unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1¼ cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chopped dark chocolate (I used 2 Hershey's special dark chocolate bars)
Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Next, prepare your baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper. Beat the butter and sugar in a large bowl until fluffy. This will take a couple minutes.
Blend in the eggs, one at a time.
It looks like scrambled eggs but it's not!
Now mix in the cocoa powder until well blended. So chocolaty!
Add the flour and baking powder and mix together until you can't see the flour anymore.
Now grab your chocolate...... =)
And chop it up!
Fold in the chocolate chunks until evenly combined.
Knead the dough with your hands just until everything has come together. If your dough is thick, that means it's ready to go!
Roll the dough into balls and place onto your parchment lined cookie sheet. Slightly flatten the balls. I made mine a good medium size...about a tablespoon amount. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15-18 minutes. Mine were perfect after 15 minutes.
Hot out of the oven!
Cool on a wire rack for 5-10 minutes.
YUMMY!
Thick...chewy...chocolaty...delicious!
Perfect with a gold glass of milk!

These look dangerously good. Dark chocolate cookies and milk are a serious weak spot in this house.
